About TeleMed Today
TeleMed Today is an independent publication covering telemedicine, virtual care, and digital health. We write reference-grade guides — state laws, reimbursement, compliance, specialties — in plain English, for the clinicians building virtual care programs and the patients using them.
What we stand for
- Answers first. Every article opens with the answer, not a wind-up.
- Independence. We are not owned by a telehealth platform, payer, or health system, and coverage is not for sale.
- Accuracy over speed. Telehealth rules change constantly. We date our pages, update them, and tell you when a question is genuinely unsettled.
- Evergreen upkeep.Regulatory pages carry visible “updated” dates and are revised as rules change.
A publication with history
This web address has covered telemedicine since 1995. It was the online home of Telemedicine Todaymagazine (1994–2004), one of the first publications dedicated to virtual care — its state law guides, program surveys, and buyer’s guides are still cited in the academic literature. After the magazine ceased publication, the domain lay dormant for years; TeleMed Today relaunched it in 2026 as an independent knowledge base for the AI era. Read the full story.
TeleMed Today continues the web address of Telemedicine Today magazine (1994–2004). The site was relaunched in 2026 and is not affiliated with the original publisher.
What our content is — and isn’t
Everything on this site is general educational information. It is not medical, legal, or billing advice, and it does not create a clinician–patient relationship. Regulations described here change; verify current rules with CMS, your state licensing board, and your payers. See our editorial policy for how we research, source, and update articles.
